Come this weekend, 28th-29th June, the Singapore Dragon Boat Association will be having its annual Singapore Dragon Boat Festival 2008.

Teams ranging from universities to corporate organizations will all come together at the Bedok Reservoir to embrace this Dragon Boat fiesta. We will see all these teams competing for the various titles including ISBG Men’s Open, National Championship (men and women) and Inter-Corporate.


We are extremely proud to have 3 top-quality NewUrbanMale.com teams competing for 2 titles, National Championship and the Inter-Corporate titles, consisting of 20 men and 10 men respectively. NewUrbanMale.com being an passionate supporter of youth talents and the Dragon Boat sport, we have decided to show our support by sponsoring the latest wonder kid on the block, the Republic Polytechnic Dragon Boat team (RPDB).

Since 2006, RPDB have been setting the Dragon Boat arena alight with its medal hauling performances scooping almost every major Dragon Boat title in its way.

In its first year alone, the RPDB had triumphed as Champions in the SAVA International Sprints 2006 and runner-up positions in the Singapore River Regatta 2006 and Penang Pasta Dragon Boat Race 2006.

In 2007 alone, it had amassed 10 Champion positions in its 25 races taken part in. Amongst the races are PA Paddle Championships, POL-ITE 2007, Singapore Dragon Boat Festival, SAVA International Sprints 2007, 5-Crew Dragon Boat Challenge, 25th Singapore River Regatta in which it had conquered all. Regardless whether it is a Mixed, Men or Women event, Republic Polytechnic Dragon Boat team had successes in all.

It continued its ascendancy in 2008 with already 3 titles in the bag from POL-ITE Men/Women and PA Paddle Championships.
